Hello all - because of a new development in my life, I will be getting
less sleep for about a year - about 5 hours most nights, instead of
the 8 hours I usually need.
but I desperately want to resume working out - getting back into
cardio shape, and some minor weight training.
I *can* still work out, even while sleepy - running on treadmill for 1
hour every other day, and minor upper-body weight lifting to keep my
strength up.
But is it HEALTHY to work out, while sleep-deprived? Do I still get
the same benefits from the workouts? Am I actually "hurting" myself by
doing this?
I know that sleep-depriv slows muscle growth, this I'm aware of. I'm
just wondering if I'm doing somthing unhealthy by doing this.
Thanks for any advice -
-John
