    Does anyone understand the Rubiera move? If it was forcing another team to take up the chase, towing
    the rest of Postal, it might make sense but that's not whats happening at this point. WTF?

    Lots of good reasons. One is that Armstrong has a teammate ahead who can support if he catches him
    without other teammates.

    Also, Rubiera is 17min back on the GC, no reason to chase him anyway. Maybe Lance wants him dangling
    out there on the final climb because he plans to attack then, and ride up to him?

    Also, there's still a climb left to go, so don't say yet that "that's not what's happening".

    But of course Rubiera has instructions not to get cooked. Nevertheless he may be, but tactically
    allways good to have one in front.

    Armstrong looks bad in the face, but he reacted very quickly when Mayo attacked. It will all come
    down to the last climb.

    2. He got to the front by sitting on wheels until the last one (Galdeano) dropped.
    3. He was instructed to ride his own pace on Port de Pailheres, which was two minutes slower than
    Armstrong.
    4. He is a climbing specialist in his own right.
    5. At the very least he has a potential spare bicycle.

    I guess I still sort of doubt the intelligence of Rubiera's attack after he covered the break. Yes
    he was able to take over for Heras and Beltran when they blew, but it wasn't for very long. Pretty
    quickly Lance was on his own. But today, a more conservative approach might not made a difference
    either. Ulrich was too strong.
