  1. ...because I love it....but there's more.

It's been a while since I've posted anything. I must admit
I've been off trails for a while, but putting in
hours/days/weeks/months in the pool and on the road, (road
    biking and road running).

Racing: I've had a few races so far this year and my leg
strength and endurance have been exceptional so
far....mostly due to single speeding, IMHO. In years past
even with heavy training I haven't been able to bring my
times down as much as I have as when I started SSing.

Preaching: If you haven't done so yet, get a SS and start
    enjoying it...that's an order.

Barneys: I don't know about other areas, but where I ride
here in MD the trails have been overrun with trail poaching
knuckle heads! (and Cicadas...love it) They usually clear
out with the summer whether 95 F and 95% humidity...the
trail poaching knuckle heads that is....bring on the heat!

Workouts: When it's hot that's the best time to get the SS
out. There is not a better workout on the planet, physically
    and mentally.

Bike: I finally had to replace my Avid pads....wow never
thought discs would be so damn good. The D.I.S.S feels like
it did when I bought it about 2 years ago. I didn't think it
would last this long...something was bound to give....guess
    I was wrong again ;-).

Going To California: I'll be in Beverly Hills late
August...I need to work out the details but I hope there's
time to ride or do a trail run out there. Any local
    knowledge would be key, TIA.

Peace and thanks for reading my stream of
    consciousness, Bill

The mind serves properly as a window glass rather than as a
reflector, that is, the mind should give an immediate view
instead of an interpretation of the world.

Sleep works well for me... I put one of those electro-shock-
exercise machines on me as I sleep... I'm ripped because I
work out for 8 hours each night!

Actually, I confess... I rode my SS yesterday at the skate
park. First time I've tried BMX really.

Although a good 1.5 hr south, San Juan Trail is a must do.
Also, there are several great rides right next door to
Beverly Hills, in the Santa Monica mtns.

I'll like to hook up with you for some riding, but you're
hitting smack in the middle of prime time DH season, so I'm
not sure if I'll be available. My DH buddies are married
w/kids, so whenever they get a chance to ride I pretty much
drop everything and ride with them.

Let us know the details when you can. I'm sure some of the
other Socal/LowSocal riders would ride with you too.

hehehe... so do I, so do I :-)

Something tells me that old Billy boy would be leaving
California with a nice double boinger packed in one
suitcase, and his "trusty SS" in a dumpster behind of one
    the local supermarkets.

I'll be there from 8/21- 8/25, looks like my wife is coming
(not a rider) but I may be able to cut loose for a
    while.....gotta work these things out.

Never in a million years....just doesn't suit me.

It was at one of my favorite parks, Whiting Ranch. I've been
    wondering how she is doing.

Both her and her kick-ass friend are very special ladies!
