Well, I thought I would run over to one of my local parks and get in some
riding. I wandered over to McKeldin SP where the trails were in great shape
and the hikers were at a minimum. I rode the "managed" side for about 40
minutes then decided to cross the stream and ride the other side for awhile.
I'd just rode the stream and hike/biked across some horse churned mud and
started my REAL ride when I heard a loud WHAM and felt something on my leg.
I came unstuck from my saddle quicker than JD pisses off newbies. My first
thought (aside from WTF!) was.... hunter. As I'm laying beside the trail in
some knee high shrubbery doing a systems check I realize, "ya dumb shiite
you didn't get shot, you had a sidewall blowout". The damn sidewall blew
just as it was rotating past my right calf. I never liked those Pythons
anyway. Not enough gription for my taste.
I stood there staring at the thing for about 5 minutes trying to figure
out if my day was done or if I could somehow fix it and ride on. Day was
done. I put a temporary fix on it and got about 2/3's of the way back to my
car when it blew again. This time I was ready and didn't mentally shiite
myself! I walked the beast the rest of the way in.
