Don't you just hate it when you're waiting for people to turn up to a meeting and then realise that actually, you're waiting in the wrong country? No? Just me then...
Postponed the meeting for a few hours, dropped by my gaff and picked up bike and kit and then drove down to the right country. Meeting lasted longer than I wanted, but I finally got out and reached La Roche-en-Ardenne at about 8pm. With this week's clement weather, that still gave me an hour or so's riding. I took the tech trail. I've written about it before - it's only about 10-12km, but it's mostly really technical singletrack, with rocks, roots and cambers, over several hundred metres vertical gain. Great fun. Just before the final descent in to town, I sat on a tree stump and watched the sun sink over a distant hill. Beautiful.

Isn't a gaff also a /faux pas/?
Maybe that's why that Sam dude on Lord of the Rings (or as us uber-geeks call it, LOTR) kept calling someone "the old gaffer". Passing lots of fauxes, I guess.

Also, a gaff is the spar attached to the top (head) of an old-fashioned 4-sided sail (called a "gaff rig"😉 which allows you to hoist the frikkin' thing.
