New tires (Conti verts as usual) are kickin' some trail butt. Nailed a couple of new sections (it's the bike, not the rider!).
Still having problems with this one rooty section. Used to be simple until a friend said "I don't know how you *do* that!" Ever since, I don't know either.
Almost hit a deer.
I got home & fired up the grill, unwrapped a pack of sausages and found...bacon? WTF?

It is now beer:30.
She rides, drinks beer, AND eats pork products! Anyone got a "Homer Simpson Drool" wave file* handy?

Did the usual happy-hour ride tonight.
Had a headwind both to and from the trailhead!

That always sucks. The short ride I took on Friday before Porter picked me up on the way to the Sequoias had the wind switching 180 degrees on me more than once. I did an out and back and had a headwind practically the whole time.

Although bacon is certainly a staple around here ("it isn't just for breakfast any more"😉, I figured bacon on the grill wasn't going to work too well. I interrogated the "squirrels" that live in my house & found where they'd stashed the sausages in the freezer. Microwaves are good for something - thawing out meat in a hurry. So I got my sausages. YUM.
A life without pig meat is not worth living. They's yummy. Pig is the whole reason I fell off the vegetarian wagon.
A friend of mine raises her own pigs & gave me some pork chops last summer. She said "they're kind of small" - I swear they were an inch thick if not more. They just melted in your mouth. I haven't been able to stomach the idea of grocery store chops since then.
I also have to have dead red occasionally - but I'm still learning how to cook that. (I get steaks from the same friend - bought 1/8 of a cow from her last year. Good stuff, Maynard.)

Its definitely the rider not the bike. Last time I saw you ride, you were smokin'! I use Conti Vert Pros on my SS, they definitely are sticky and grippy (is that a real word?).

Thanks! And funny, that's the third time today somebody's used that adjective to describe me. I must be smokin' *something*.

I *love* those tires. The weird thing was they sucked BDD in Sun Valley last summer. Definitely felt squirrelly. I'm going to have to find an alternative tire solution for Sandpoint, methinks.
