Was my first venture to the new DISC velodrome at northcote to race.
Warmup took a bit of getting used to, hadn't been on the track for at last 3 months and the boards feel different to concrete. (Even longer since I had been on a really steep track)
Three races in B grade with not much to show for my efforts (2 3rds in the point race sprints were the highlights of the night). Its amazing how much more comfortable the track feels once you are wound up at speed. Only issue for me was I know I was too wheel shy, you just have to be so much closer on the track.
Point to note, by the end of the night it cools down in there! Midway through the motorpace I was starting to feel cool, by the end i wasn't as from about 10 to go they really wound it up!
All races were long enough to have a good ride ~28-32 laps for scratch, points and motorpace.
A couple of known a.bers were there, I'll leave them to comment on their highlights.
