Since your move out west, you remind me of a hungry kid in a free donut
shop! And looked like some tough sections in there, too. And I notice
you've got the "in" tires of choice for this kind of stuff. Did you
run those in NJ, too?

Tried some and walked some, it's a work-in-progress. Still can't do

Nope. I had Panaracer Fire XC pro tires. They sucked here! The new
tires are heavier, but I don't slide at all.

I'm head over heels in love with my 2.4 Blue Groove/Nevegal combo, as
long as I remember to run them betw 25 and 30lbs. So much fun to
corner hard in loose stuff and not break loose until I'm really leaning
over and can work with it to my advantage.

Just 35 minutes from my apartment is Golden Gate State Park. I pull
into the visitor center and acquire my state park pass and trail map. I
figure out the route I'll take, park the car and head up. Yeah, up again.

Looks nice but too hot! I rode Hartman's on Saturday in the middle of
the day (usually a bad idea this time of year, but it sounded better
than hanging out with my out of control 7-year-old nephew any longer!).
It was really hot, maybe 90 or even more. The sun out there is amazingly
intense and I was feeling like it was turning me into jerky. The granite
radiates the heat back up like a convection oven too. I did about 20
Miles in a little over two hours and returned home with a bad heat
headache.
The trails are in great shape but I wish I had more time to go high
altitude.
I think my buddy Stave and I will opt for 401 next weekend. That should
be a lot nicer!

The heat does tend to fry ones brain....probably why I still ride in the
desert in the summer!

No. For DH it is backwards. For XC it is correct. Check the side
label on them, it can go either way. The way it's on now actually
scoops. Might be slower but it sure grabs everything.

thing......... Cry me a river... build me a bridge... and get over it.

Sorry dude. My 12-yr old used that on me about a month ago and
I've just been WAITING to burn it on someone.

Either way, I'll try and get out into my 900' Maryland hills and
ride a couple hours in your honor.

suddenly relegated to hamburgers and two buck chuck, they can tell the
difference. Now if I were Hemo, I would feel like I was dropped down
to hamburger helper and boone's farm. Move to Flordida and it's scraps
from the mcdonald's garbage bins accompanied by md 20/20.

HA! I guess that's a major difference. I've ridden out there but never
lived there so I can't really relate. Hemo now, that boy's gotta be
hating life. Florida? Yeah, I see your point. Thanks for the reality
