  1. I'm thinking of going over to the Brecon Beacons for a long
cycling weekend in May. Does anybody have any good ideas for
rides in that region? Is it particularly good for cycling
(if not it'll have to be Snowdonia...)

For offroad routes they used to do a set of leaflets in
tourist info places with simple maps giving you an idea of
what the various bridleways on the OS maps are like for ease
of riding. Good for those who like to make up their own
routes. Big area, plenty of choice.

    Off-road? Heaven! Forget about mud!

Excellent, that's what I was hoping. I went there on an
adventure holiday thing when I was at school and remembered
it was a pretty cool place. Just hope it isn't *too* muddy
    when I get there...

For MTB you might also consider the area around Rhayader or
Llanwrtyd Wells - a few miles north of Brecon.
