Factory Reconditioned Ronco Invention Showtime Indoor Rotisserie and BBQ
This was $319.99 and now marked down to $49.99!!
I like mine. I bought it new several years ago & it as of yet hasn't broken.
It makes the *best* Rotisserie chicken, but I have learned to cover my meat with foil (poked with holes for drainage) for the first 30 min & then uncover. Otherwise the skin burns.

I didn't write about the reconditioned Ronco. Tina Marrie did. I asked the question: "84% off??"
I have a rotisserie too. Not the Showtime, but another less expensive and excellently performing rotisserie. Love it!! But I'm not sure I'd've paid 84% off regular price for it.
<there should be no need to cover your chicken with foil in your rotisserie, btw. If the skin is burning in the first 30 minutes, your temperature setting is too high>
Amazon has this 84% off. I'm thinking of getting it, but can anyone give me info on it? (how did you like the food cooked in it?) I've listed it on my page but I'm looking to buy it if there is enough positive experiences with it. I'm also concerned about clean up.

It is a good price for a very good appliance, but it is not 84% off. You can buy that new for $129 to $159 depending on the model. Amazon uses unrealistic inflated retail prices.

I wonder if you've got a bad unit, Denise -- I haven't had that issue with mine...

That's what it said. Anyway I was wanting to make sure that this purchase wasn't a wasted one. I've gotten gadgets before that take up my precious kitchen space that were more trouble than it was worth. Someone else wrote me and said that they had very good luck with theirs as long as you clean it right away.
I've got to check to see if the price is still good though. "pennyaline" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

84% off??
I have a George Foreman jobie. It has made me a rotisserie Chicken Junkie. I like to do a largish chicken say a 6-7 lbs bird. I shove thin lime slices under the skin all over. Gives the bird just a hint of lime flavour. Lately if it isn't crockpotted it is spun.

Thank you for the reply, it has definately helped me. I hadn't thought of the lime under the skin, sounds devine. I am a fan of lemon pepper but lime..how refreshing!
May I ask, what is "spun"?

When using a rotisserie what does the food do other than cook?...It spins.
Rotisseried food does something else other than cook and spin, it does something *extrememly important* that distinguishes rotisserie cooking from ALL other forms of cooking, which of course embodies the *entire* purpose of rotisseries, the food _continuously bastes itself_.

My 40+ year old hand me down Sunbeam Carousel has cooked countless meals.
It is used at least a couple of times a month. It is easier to store than those horizontal Rotisseries.
