I have a 34-35 inside leg and the largest size Ron Hill DXB Bikesters are
fine (I too found the Altura stuff too short the leg)

I bought some lovely warm Altura trousers. Medium. The legs are
ludicrously short. :-(
The body length between waist band and crotch is ludicrously long, but this
cannot be remedied by wearing the waistband up high because the foot loops
on the end of the short legs are under strain and just pull it down again.
This results in the crotch hanging way too low.
My kids say it would look trendy if it wasn't actually me wearing it.

Never had this problem with medium Bikesters.

I really would not recomend Altura trousers to anyone.

Hmmm. I tried XL Bikesters - not long enough in the Leg.

XL Winter cruisers - perfect fit.

Mine are OK. I quite like them. I've a 32" inside leg.

Thanks for the input. I have to say in trying them on I found exactly as you
said, with the waist band on your waist the leg length is OK but the crotch
is around your knees (OK slight exaggeration there). Pull them up so the
crotch is in the right place and strain on the stirrups is too great.

I will try the bikesters.

Yup, just to chip in another penny's worth, I tried both summer and
winter Altura Cruisers and found the same as the other posters - legs
way too short, and a very deep crotch that seems to hang around your
knee caps. I'm sure I could find some use for them, but cycling
wouldn't be on the list.

I did think of writing to Altura and pointing this out to them, but I
assumed i was just too lanky until I read the other posts.

Ron Hill bikesters are plenty long enough in the leg though. Just a
shame they don't come with pockets like the Altura Cruisers do.

If you still have the trousers, then you could get some use out of them by
lengthening the foot loops. I'd suggest leaving the existing join between
loop ends and trouser legs alone, on the grounds that it should be secure.
Cut through the foot loop at the mid point. Buy a few cm of elastic, at
least 2 cm wide. Then you will need help from someone else to work out how
much of the existing loops to retain, how much to cut off and how much
elastic to insert so that everything under your foot is elastic and the
joins between elastic and loops are on the sides of your feet, above your
normal shoe line.

All cycle clothing is sized for Italian midgets. I buy biblongs for
winter to avoid the foot loop problem :-)
