I just got a Kestrel 200sci off e-bay and am in the process of doing upgrades. My LBS has a set of Rolf Urraco wheels for 1/2 price. Does anyone have any experience w/ them. I know they are older from when Rolf was w/ Trek, but have not been able to otherwise find much info.
I think LBS means "LOCAL BIKE SHOP" . I'm new to this fourm and was wandering what that was for a while myself. Please correct me if i'mwrong on the meaning Bobby
Gimme some help here! I know these wheels may not be the latest and greatest, but I just need to know if they were decent in their time and whether they're worth $ 300.
I'm riding the Rolf urraco's for a couple of years now, bought them second hand in good condition. The wheels are very light weight, stiff and they roll 4ever. I'm riding a singletrack in the dunes of Holland every weekend with them (read; they receive a beating every weekend) and hold up fine. No problems whatsoever! these wheels rock! and look great!
good luck with them!

You can always do an ebay search, see what they sell for there.
As I recall, the Urraco was essentially the Dolomite with better hubs, and it also is a disc only wheelset. I've had Dolomites on my MTB for around two years. They've been tough and reasonably light, and have remained true despite the ham fisted rider. The MTB doesn't get much use these days. I just can't get off the road...
