ObBike: the fabric (Airlight?) is smooth enough that it rides over your
knees when pedaling, unlike denim etc, so I really like them for
cycling. Also the zipped pockets mean you know things like wallets can't
fall out.

ObThread: Bags aren't formal or semi-formal really, but Rohan did make
office-type trousers. I cycled to work in them for years with almost no
wear (just the bottom of the hems fraying I think). Same material but
more a chino cut.

And as for expensive, which others have said, they're a lot cheaper than
Levi's and last more than twice as long. I've just got my third pair in
15 years (the first pair I ripped a knee - didn't look good even with
the double knee layer - and the second got holes in the pockets due to
me carrying too much stuff in them).

They make everything up to and including formal suits these days. I
don't really have any use for a suit but if you do then you can get a
lighter, better packing, easier care, faster drying one from them than
you can from M&S (or wherever it is you buy suits from...).

When I started work here paid by the NHS rather than the Uni, the NHS
department business manager was old school formal, and insisted that T
shirts and tracksters weren't good enough. I drew the line at a tie,
but have been happy working day to day in Bags and a Rohan button up
shirt, and they were good enough to put the Fashion Police off my trail.
Said FP weren't very happy with the original shorter Bags shorts (the
bight pink ones probably didn't help...) but with the current slightly
longer ones in a more sober colour they're not fussed.

I think it's more that they've given up on you..
