  1. Hey all,

Looking to get back into riding without breaking the bank. I have decided for various reasons (including test rides) that I want a "speed hybrid" or whatever they call them - flat bar road bikes, basically.

I have narrowed it down to a Specialized Sirrus (the ~$700 with disk brakes), a Road Warrior 600, and possible a Felt - either an S91 for budget reasons or an S81 cuz they're cooler.

Does anyone have any real experience with any of these, or is it really an issue of "get the one that looks best to you"?

    Thanks!

    Brad

  2. You will get a lot of replies telling you that fit is most important...

I think you might also want to take a look at Bianchi and Lemond. They have some really great flat bar bikes that are just a little more expensive but give a much better ride because they have steel frames.

That generalization does not always fly,but one should try them anyway.

  4. Take a look at the ALFANA by Bianchi, awesome bike!

If only that was available in Europe... some of the Bianchi USA models are quite appealing. Gogogo, you might want to take a look at some less obvious options; there's a thread concerning flatbar road bikes in Road Racing Forum: http://www.cyclingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41763.

Thanks - I did take a look at that and it gave some good information. I think the Bianchi is frigging beautiful, but about twice my budget right now - hence the questions about the specialized and cannondales.
