Road Racing Rules

Don't see why not as long as the handle bar has end caps and you have a racing licence or the club allows try out rides you should be OK. But contact your local club that you plan to race with.🙂

correct me if im wrong but if you race with an acf license you therefore are racing under uci rules and they state that you must use a traditional handlebar

i know its a bit technical and maybe not enforced everywhere but dont be surprised if it is

Well this may have answered my question. It doesn't say that the bars have to be of the drop type, only that they allow you to control the bike properly and they must be no wider than 50cm. But I will read it in more detail just to make sure.
