  1. Hey guys looking for training partners with good level of fitness to ride with, in and around the Melbourne area, especially for those longer rides. I'm 27 years old, based in St Kilda and head out 3 times a week for rides between 30-100km averaging a speed of 30 to 35kms/hr. I have only been living in Melbourne for 6 months so definitely keen to meet up with people who know the area well, as well as people who just love being on the bike and riding at a decent tempo.

Please don't hesitate to get in contact either on my mobile: 0451836732 or via email: [email hidden].

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Jonathan

  2. Hey Jonathan, you might want to check out the "Plan a Ride' section of the Bicycles Victoria forums

    bv.com.auviewforum.php

  3. I dont understand. You want training partners? Training for what? Doesnt sound like you are training for anything. Which makes your rides 'social'. Why would you need to tell people your age? Or give out your phone number?

    Weirdness.

If you rate yourself on the bike (lets face it you kind of do) then just join the St Kilda Cycling Club and pin on a number and race. They have plenty of group training rides and plenty of blokes to tag along with for smaller training rides.

Alternatively just ride/train along beach rd of a morning from 5.30am onwards. You will find plenty of small bunches you can train with going about your pace.

Im not having a go at you but you have to admit its a bit creepy putting your phone number and everything on the internets.

Relax. Join a club. There are TONS of people to meet if you race bikes. Thats where all the cool kids are. If you dont join a club and just become a weekend warrior then you wont make many friends.

Putting you phone number on the interwebs is just plain creepylicious.

  4. Vadar, back off. You ARE having a go at him when the dude just wants to ride.

This sort of [censored] puts people off using this forum... AND he is obviously new to the sport.

The fact that you thought to reply to his email with your [censored] is weirdness.

I hope that the guy finds a good group and gets some riding done...

Don't worry about Vadar he's the resident grumpy but funny guy who posts rants and often they are funny but often they are the misguided dillusional ranting of someone who has just moved to perth.

On the other hand, do what matagi suggested, loads of people on the BV forums.
