  1. "It's BV calling to remind you your membership has lapsed..."..

    Looks like someone's membership money is being put towards that mobile phone
    call they just made to me.. they almost didn't catch me, as I was riding
    home 🙂

    Anyone else get the call?

    cheers,
    GPL

    I got one after my membership had lapsed.

    Even better, when i got my reminder i asked them when the membership actually expired as they didnt quote the exact date anywhere on the invoice. Bearing in mind that the policy links in to insurance coverage its kind of a major point. BV was like.." oh yeah maybe i should mention it to someone here " and i was like " gee do you think so?" Pretty frickin stupid.

    I did some work with them back in 2000, and there was about 10 calls a day during renewal time asking exactly that question. So you can assume:

    a) they aren't interested in their customer feedback;
    b) they aren't capable of change;
    c) there's some reason why they are keeping it hush hush.

    The other thing that is not publicised is that your renewal will be on the 15th of March, June, September or December, regardless of when you join up.

    Must be time for a new grass roots cycling organisation to replace the one that used to be BV.

    there is.. it's called the BR.. we provide nothing other than the service
    of waiting until 7:30am before you are assumed a no-show... entry is free
    and open to all who can keep up....

    Recent additions to the ride include road markings (cheers JWoo), and large
    digital temperature gauge opposite the starting corner at Doncaster Rd..
    just to show members how cold it really is at 7:30am on a Sunday... thanks
    to Office Works(?) for providing this service...

    FD: what were the 'future plans for the BR' you were talking about last
    week? I was expecting (yet forgot about) this news at the Smiths Gully
    store.... btw.. the bacon and egg sanga from Smiths Gully is highly
    recommended..hmmmm bad never tasted sooo gooooood.

    cheers,
    GPL

    Hah, hah, I know, I know. Information only to be dispersed on the ride
    to authorised riders.

    I got a call from Optus last night to announce they were giving me 15% off my bill. I said fantastic!! But how are you going to arrange that with Telstra - I don't have an Optus account.....

    At least the teleguy saw the humour in his mistake also.

    😄 😄 😄 😄

    Maybe Optus can give me a discount on my BV membership too???? 😄

    It doesnt matter when they ask for the money , its when its actually expires. Considering that BV try and promote their membership with the free insurance , thats really [censored] to hear that there has been 5 years of incompetency going on.
