I see there are lots of South African cyclists in the forums, which is great. Well I've recently got a bike (obviously) and I was wandering if there are any Capetonians here who can reccomend some good routes to cycle. At the moment I have only really cycled on the roads around Kirstenbosch, Newlands, Constantia Kloof Nek etc. And I would also love to cycle along Victoria road on Camps Bay (from Hout Bay to Sea Point) - the view is breathtaking, almost like Chapmans Peak, and the road is also P.E.R.F.E.C.T - winding, long and flat and it's got a large shoulder. (Problem is getting there though)
Well we've got probably the most beautiful city in the world, but I'm not too experiened so I don't want to go up to "Chappies" or to Stellenbosch just yet. However I am looking for any routes which you Capetonians cycle on (BTW I am in Rondebosch/Claremont) other than the popular Newlands, Kirstenbosch etc. roads
Thanks a lot.
