Nice! I almost had that today; not quite, though.

I like those days too. They are coming again. I've been riding with a guy who is 13yrs my senior and new to mtn biking. We'll just say that some days are better than others ;-)
Monday we rode 4.7 miles on on turkey mountain in ~1:15 of moving time. I had a mechanical issue at the start and Jay crashed a bit so we took a few breaks (~40min worth.. it was a bit excessive). then yesterday we did the same route (4.4 mi with no wrong turns;-)) in 55min with 20min of stop time for a total of 1:15. both days were 95* with heat indxes over 100*. I was pretty happy given the heat.
Jays in much better shape than I am but I ride a lot better. His skill is progressing to the point it takes a significant effort to keep ahead of him. I'm starting to miss the the little short breathers waiting on him to catch up. I get a few but they are getting fewer and farther between.

I like that too. My stormy ride Sunday was like that on the SS. My legs sure
were tired the next day. That was about 2.5 hours with one pee stop (it
couldn;t be postponed any longer).

If there were other riders around, you coulda done it G Roadie style and
never had to stop. They hold your bars, you keep pedaling while you hang
willie off to the side, and let her fly. Really, what are friends for,
anyway??

Well, gettin closer... Rode 5.4mi on the mountain in 57min with about 15min of stop time. WOW was it hot 96* but felt like 110*.
I want to get to do my normal 3.7mi loop before a breather.. then work up to more. Most of the time we run into someone we know an socialize a bit. Not to say the stops aren't welcome.

Did another one last night. 70* and clear - perfect.
Climbed about 2000 Ft. in about 8 Miles right from the house, turned around
and went back home in about 2:10.
Never saw another person on the trail. I love that!

Wow Matt, a solid 2.5 hr ride on the SS...that'll do ya in,
specially on your terrain. Very nice.
That's about what my Seattle Tiger Mtn episode was with lots
of very long 4-6% grade sections that made it hard to
recover on the single.
R u gonna hit the Freak's SS invitational? Since I'm not
gonna be riding for the next coupla weeks I will probably
not make it. I think it would kill me.

Doesn't sound viable on singletrack! 😉

I can't.
My wife will be in Winter Park riding with friends (including the Atlanta
MTB Bronze medal winner) that weekend and I'm home with the boy.
She's been trying to make this annual ride (they call themselves "The Dirty
Girls" - I like that) for several years and this is her year.
I didn't see a daycare facility mentioned on the 3ZSSE site 😉. I really
need to make that ride one of these years.
Maybe we'll both be there next year and you can show me a thing or two!

And beyond! There's some great singletrack up there looping from Signal Peak
down across Lost Canyon and back up to Signal Mesa. Great stuff and I never
see anyone up there!
Matt
Well you will now!

I doubt it. Do you know where this is? Most people can't be bother on
account of the 800 Ft. climb to get to the start of the singletrack.
If you can, then more power to you and see you out there.
