Revive DX - Possible Gearing Issue Fix

I can't offer any advice for your DX except to suggest considering buying the DD version (which I
know is not offered at this time in the US). If I had a garage or a basement I would get much more
involved with working on my bike. As it is now, I bring it into my living room and work on it there;
not a good place, I know.

In the long run, perhaps just buying the 21 speed version could save a lot of time. Sorry not to be
more helpful.

I have a list of suggestions fro Giant here in the Netherlands, but they don't seem interested in
hearing from customers. I am still waiting for someone at Giant to contact me. I hope the attitude
in the US in better than Giant here in Europe. Dave Horne

Very Good On the bike and welcome to the club. I had though about changing the gear as well. But,
the more I ride the more I think it's just right for me. I do a lot of hills here in St.Louis and
gears 1 and 2 work well for me. Sometimes I do run out on 7 going down hill,But then I'm mostly

discussing where to go on this.

Possibly a Rohloff rear hub and back to the original 16 tooth rear sprocket?

Our bike shop guy, Dave, has been fantastic in helping us decide (did the mods for free) and is
looking into Rohloff compatibility issues... (can recommend the shop by return email if anyone in
this area is interested)

Anyone tried to find a rack that works for this unusual config bike?

Well I'm back on a.r.b.r. I had been having trouble with my computer but it is at least partially
fixed🙂 However I am posting this from work...go figure.

Congrats on your new DXs. I think I remember posting several weeks ago about this subject on the
gearing. The recommendation from the bike shop mechanic that I passed along was to go up to no more
than an 18 or 19 tooth rear sprocket as the larger gear could interfere with the rear cover.

On the comment about the Rohloff, one of the shop mechanics is "lusting" on the idea of getting a DX
and modifiying it with that rear hub as well as other high performance mods. It would be the
"ultimate comfort bike" for sure;-)

Edward, excuse my ignorance if this has been asked before, but is there some reason why the Revive
BB cannot be replaced with a Schlumpf drive?
