    [font=Bookman Old Style]It appears the Canadian Cycling Association was unable to find a dime more than its own measly pittance allocated from its supposed heritage fund from the 2003 Worlds to add overall pot.[/font]

    [font=Bookman Old Style]There are only 6 races in three provinces (BC, ON, QC) plus nationals in BC. One race only in Ontario and QC. Nationals are mandatory for riders to be counted in the series.[/font]

    [font=Bookman Old Style]So, after traveling back and forth across the country for two months, the overall Elite male rider will get...$1500 (one-thousand, five hundred dollars). An elite women will win $1000. Prizes go only five deep for men and three deep for women![/font]

It has not done anything in more than a year. It has not even filed an annual report. The report was due in December 2004, almost six months ago.[/font]

Why would a sponsor give $100,000 if they did it this year for $10,000? The Legacy does no good whatsoever sitting in a bank account being doled out in little itty bitty bites of $10,000. It is like Chinese-water torture or death by a thousand cuts.[/font]

    I took a look at that schedule. It is quite sparse (for road). Maybe the only thing going for someone committed to racing all of them is to set up camp in BC in order to include the SuperWeek to their plans (3 week span). Superweek is probably where some cash can be made. The prize winnings to traveled miles ratio gets better.

    Well, it certainly favours BC but good for them, more power them. they have earned it.

    BC will host road nationals twice in two years. They stepped up to the plate.

    Burnaby Veldorome is doing well. (So is Forest City but it jsut started).

    BC has some of the best racing in Canada.

    It is surpasing Quebec in the quality of its events. It has the best teams: Symmetrics and Rocky Mountain. Yeah, yeah, I know about Jet Fuel but I think Symmetrics has bigger plans, more potential and a more sound approach.

    Not for nothing I am advocating Lesley Tomlinson of BC to be the next CCA President.

    Wayne Pomario the Cycling BC President knows his stuff. He is credible. He has been around.

    Despite what people may think I think, Henry Pejril is doing excellent work out in BC.

    I have few complaints with anybody there.
    I think it is a shame to have such a poor national series.
    I think it is ridiculus to horde legacy funding like if keeping in the bank represents growth. My complaints are with the CCA in Ottawa and somewhat with Ontario for not taking more a leadership role in cycling in this country.

    Like it or not, unless if happens in Toronto it isn't considering as happening for about half of our population.

    I cannot accept that the best we can do is have a national race in Elliot Lake almost 500 kilometres from TO.

    Having a national series and rewarding five men and three women is just plain stupid. Sorry, but that is what it is.

    PS Do you want to bet that the CCA spent far more tha $10,400 sending CCA President Bil Kinansh to Verona, Italy last fall than what they are going to give to riders for racing at home all summer.

    It is disgrace.

    Kinash has to go and go fast. He has no respect for riders and no respect for the sport.

    That is why I have no respect for him or anybody else that doesn't get it is about the riders.

    I think Lesley Tomlinson gets that...

    BTW, while I think of it, a word to the wise, to potential medal winners going to Elliot Lake.

    If they give you a medal or a trophy up there in the woods and it glows in the dark, you might want to encase it in lead and burying it for...,oh...20,000 or 30,000 years.

    Or you could try sending to Iran or North Korea for cash.

    I think they are using plutonium in Iran but North Korea is using uranium which I believe is what they mined up at Elliot Lake.

    1. Lesley Tomlinson runs the Rocky Mountain Team, probably the best in Canada.

    2. She has been on the CCA Board of Directors for a few years now.

    3. She has worked with the BC high school program getting some 1500 kids in it.

    4. She is a big proponent of the Sprockids Program.

    5. She understand how important it is to market the sport. She has good plans for marketing the CCA and the sport that have been stymied by Bill Kinash his clique abd his inaction.

    6. She is electable.

    7. She is frorm BC and BC is on top of things and they have not had a CCA President.

    8. She is a women, it might be a nice change to finally have a woman running the CCA since it is the women who have been carrying the sport for years with their results.
