Repairing a Trek 5500

ouch ! I hope that you can find someone who knows OCLV.

I have often wondered how I'd fare after a crash on my 5200. Good luck. Let hope
that it doesn't need a trip back to the U.S.

In Canberra there is a guy out at the airport that does carbon fibre
repair. Pete from ethos bikes used to work for him. Here is an url

I'm Aerospace qualified to work on C/F, kevlar etc. Unfortunately I'
not in a position to state that yes, it can be repaired without seein
the extent of the damage. I don't know where you live, however I kno
that Composite technology is taught at Broadmeadows TAFE (Melb.)
daresay that Sydney would have an equivalent facility

The bottom line is try the Aerospace teaching facilities,they may b
able to help you out as composites is part of the curriculum. Hop
this helps

Thanks for all the advice guys I spoke to Bill Shelley today he reckons he
can repair the frame for me, he reckons it doesn't sound as bad as some of
the repairs he has done in the past, probably only cost me $250-$300
