Looks like your 365 available days of riding a year may be
decreases somewhat. Sorry to see a native (assuming) leave.

Heading towards the ocean you have Rockville about 45
minutes away, Skyline about an hour, Oat Hill about an hour
and a half, Santa Cruz mountains about two hours, etc., etc.

Auburn is 30 minutes away, Downieville 1 1/2-2 hours away,
North Lake Tahoe/Northstar 1 1/2 hours, South Lake is
about the same.

Plenty of riding that is much different than
Phoenix/Sedona/Tucson.

Drop me a line if you want me to hook you up with some Sacto
locals/Norcal rides.

No more London Bridge and no more havin to flip those buns.

I wouldn't mind moving just so that I had new stuff to
explore nearby. I'm having to drive farther and farther to
hit new stuff.

Nice. We'll be in touch. Thanks pete... that's an excellent
list for starters. Most of those sound familiar thanks to
your video library. As I remember, some of those are A++...
like Downieville and Oat Hill. I can hardly wait!

Yeah, that's one of the many things I will miss about my
home (that's right, I'm a native Arizonan). However, I'm
hoping to escape the heat this year before it truly hits.
It's demoralizing when the weather is great, but it's 120
degrees outside and if you go outside for more than 5
minutes you will be cooked. Thanks for the reply. =)

I just found out an old family friend lives in Downieville.
Now that I have free lodging there, I might consider a
return trip soon.

By car. You guys are such hypocrites. If you cared about the
environment, you wouldn't own a motor vehicle.

The Redding area is very good for riding. There are miles
and miles of trails in the Whiskeytown and French Gulch
areas. There are also a few good trails right in town here.
Drop me an e-mail if you are up here, and I can show you
around. You can also check out Reddingmountainbiking.com.
They have good directions and descriptions of some of the
more popular rides around here. They do group rides on Sat
mornings, but they can be crowded and they ride a little too
slow for my tastes.
