    Those of you that have been to Deer Creek Canyon, you know our rock
    section is worse than this section in Vermont where these pro-racers
    are crashing bigtime. They in fact closed this section and eliminated
    it from the race due to the amount of riders crashing - yet they were
    all Pros.

    Clearly by the pictures it's not as severe as the rock section at Deer
    Creek Canyon where they put the stairs in, it's close, but the rocks at
    Deer Creek Canyon are far bigger and ruthless, there isn't as much of a
    navigable path to weed out & take at DCC. What do you think (those of
    you that have done DCC)?

    It kinda makes me feel good to see Pros crashing at levels rated
    "expert", this trail is rated "double black diamond" which is the
    highest rating pertinent to difficulty in mountain biking. Another
    thing I like about this race is that it's more compareable to most of
    us in that most of us aren't racers and we simply just bike trails and
    endure the difficult rock gardens & sections that exist because it's
    there, and we're there for being outdoors & recreation scenery, not
    showmanship.

    Well this race is just that, it's what most of us at TrailCentral do,
    there's no stunts, tricks, or showmanship going on, this is pure trail
    riding and the trail is tough. I get tired of the showmanship stuff cuz
    I mountain-bike for the workout & the scenery, so it's nice to see pros
    doing stuff that we encounter and they fail at it, I really get tired
    of the one-handed one-footers & the stunts done off jumps, it gets old.
    This was refreshing to see and I think what more mountain-biking
    coverage should be geared towards - difficult trail riding.

    I don't like seeing people get hurt or have a bad day, but it's a nice
    pat on the back seeing a pro have difficulty or failure at something
    I've succeeded at. The rocks in these pictures are not severe enough to
    have had stairs put in, while Deer Creek Canyon clearly needed stairs
    to walk up or down without a bike. Here that's clearly not the case,
    thus I think I'm accurate in saying DCC is far tougher, at least that
    one % section" is. What do you guys think? Oh, and note the
    rider who didn't fall, and completed the race!

    Worse than my old ones? I saw them on a PC once when that site was
    still active and they were horrific.

    One of these days, I'm going to load all of that 8MM into my PC and get
    to editing. It may not be high res, but it is undeniably classic
    Fruita with a lot of the main players who helped make it happen.

    BTW, when are you coming down here to ride some desert? The Mojave has
    some really good stuff.
