Red Bull 2005 entries needed

Roger's off to Taiwan again and left me to bump this thread. If you're
interested in doing this truely awesome 24hr event (one of the biggest
in Europe I believe) then add your names to this thread. You can also
email Roger if you want to.

Please read our reports from last year's event (see above). It's a hard,
but great weekend with tons of socialising to be done as well as riding.
Each year there's about 1700 riders, of which unicyclists have numbered
up to 13. You wouldn't beleive how much encouragement and support we
get from the 'two wheeled' ones. We truely are heros in their eyes.

Sorry but I won't be able to come over this year for it. We are doing
two of these in Canada and "24 Hours of Light" is the same weekend as
Redbull.

I will say that Redbull is a fantastic event and I had a blast last year
even though the weather created almost comically bad conditions for part
of the time. I don't think a unicycle team will ever beat 139 mountain
bike teams the way we did last year!

If you're considering this at all, I really really recommend it. Roger
and the others are great organizers and you will have a great time if
you go for it.

After Red Bull 2006? I haven't seen dates for it but supposing it is
end June 2006, while Unicon XIII is 23 July - 2 August 2006, you have
3 - 4 weeks to bridge.

I figure I have just 16 weeks to recover my fitness back to last
October's level & as the years go past this will be harder to achieve.
I've got to do this one year...

Can I be added to the slowest team? Alternatively put me in as reserve
for the slow team.

Anybody else think they might be up for it? It's not too late to put
your name down - but if you could let us know as soon as possible then
that would help us.

Our record number of unicyclists taking part in this endurance event is
actually the number we have at the moment. Wouldn't it be great if we
could better that! So, stop thinking about it and add you name to this
ever growing list of 'heros'.

How about it Joe Rowing, Joe Marshall, Sarah & Paul, Rocket, Matt, etc,
etc. How often do you get to be REAL HEROS in the eyes of mountain
bikers for a whole weekend? 😄

I think we have 16 for the Lifestyles race this year (3 teams of 5 plus
1 solo). Last year we had 15. Our record for 24 Hours of Adrenalin in
California is 12 (team of 5 and team of 7). In NZ last year we also had
12 (2 teams of 5 plus 2 solo).

Sounds like you guys are going to have a great time.

This sounds like an experience not to be missed if possible, and with
all this coersion, how could anyone resist?

I'm a bit of a newbie to the organised competitive muni scene, but I'm a
pretty competent rider, will be going up in the world from 24 to 29 in
the next few months and I love a challenge.
