Angle Lake Cyclerey is the best bent shop in Seattle. They have about the same number of bents
that I do(40). The last time I was there I did not see any Optima products. There is no bike shop
in Seattle that sells lowracers. The nearest bike shop that has Optima is in Wenatchee. I saw
their display at the Seattle Bike Show last year. The Next Seattle Bike Show is March 5-7.
Although Seattle is a big bike town, it is recumbent challenged. A friend of mine has a Challenge
Jester. It is too small for him. He should be riding an M-5. The hottest highracer is the
Titanium Bachetta. Angle Lake has one and you should try it. Zach Kaplan kicked ass with one at
PIR last year.

IIRC, M5 designer Bram Moens is about 1.95-m tall, which makes him an average size Dutch
HPV designer.

It seems a shame to go that far but I purchased a Rans v-rex frame from poweroncycling in florida
today. Most of the hardware off of the Bentech i am building will fit and it will get me on the
road quicker.

Angle Lake cycles has some bents but when it comes to the newer high racers and European bikes there
is just no place in Seattle to see them.

I know its not in Seattle, but Seattle sucks when it comes to 'bents, I even had a hard time
finding anyone at Angle Lake to show me a 'bent
(2002) and so ended up going to "GoBent Bikes" in Wenatche where they sell only 'bents and have
the Optima line and are happy to let you ride them for a test.

Don't have the link, but they have a website and you should give them a try even though they are a
2.5hr drive for you (heck I drove from Spokane). I picked up my Burley Taiko from them, and they
are no/low preassure when it comes to sales, and very nice people.

I am really surprised that Seattle doesn't have more bents in its shops... But I guess its the old
demand issue right ?!?

Paul is taller than me. Maybe he is 73 inches tall. He weighs about 200 pounds. He is an ex Marine
who is a very fast long distance rider. He can easily dust pacelines while riding his wedgie and
almost can keep up with my streamliner roadster. He likes to go fast downhill on a wedgie.When he
started riding bents he had some problems getting used to them. His Jester has the BB way too far in
front of the front wheel. This might put too much weight on the front wheel or cause too much pedal
steer. For stability reasons I do not like bikes with more weight on the front wheel and lightly
loaded rear. All those muscles on his legs look a lot heavier than mine. He says he has problems
keeping the Jester straight while peddaling fast downhill. I rode his Jester with no problems. I
tried to convince him to sell me the Jester at a huge loss since it " has some kind of problem
downhill" but he wouldn't go for that.

Reportedly, Mr. Sybrandy is a mere 2 meters tall, which makes him only average size for a Dutch
recumbent rider. 😉

He /shouldn't/ have too much trouble, then. I fitted on Garrie Hill's Jester OK, and I'm about 75"
and of similar mass. FWIW, Ymte is about 6'6" and 220 lbs.
