I know absolutely nothing about bikes, but I'm looking for a cheap one. By cheap, I mean as cheap as possible, definitely no more than £100. I need it only to commute to nearby shops and local amenities, occassionaly perhaps to work. No off-road riding at all.
I'm 5ft 4, so need something that I'd be comfortable on.
I've seen these ones, anyone have any views on them:
Don't get dual suspension. It's more stuff to break. Also, the energy which articulates the suspension over bumps comes out of your forward power. Also, you'll hate knobbies for street riding and will have to spend extra on street tires.
Find something with a singlespeed or three speed hub. Many people commute on those. They'll be more reliable than a cheap derailleur system. I've got a 3 speed cruiser and it works great, although I wasn't able to find my brand on your amazon.co.uk link.

Any comments on these bikes? Which one should I go for?
Or any other suitable recommendations?
Thanks.
i think you might be better saving up some more pennies and taking a look around at some other sites rather than amazon. check your local bike shop, you might get a good bargin in the sales.
Before buying the last two bikes, I looked on line and the LBS was cheaper than any place I found on line, plus you have the service. And wait and save a bit, its more than worth it. Unless you are going to seriously do some off road pounding, go with a hard tail, if mostly paved, go hybrid or road bike. You will end up hating the three bikes you've looked at.....and damn, the weight of those.
Save up abit and get a more decent bike. At least an aluminum frame with Shimano Tourney and V-brake shift, 21 speed. It will make yr life much easier when encounter some uphill and shifting the gear!
