I like the yoga circuit routine that moves through
about 8 positions. You can find good yoga
info over at teh "yoga journal" site. -

him [censored]. It wasn't my cup o' tea, but he liked it.Quoted message said:

Obviously a lard-ass with no life, who'll grab his chest and cry like a 3YO
with a poopy diaper, when he gets a heart attack from his 96% body fat.
You must be his "current" to be so defensive. -

is there a good, full body stretching routine that someone could
recommend, maybe something I could find online? No doubt there is, but what does this have to do with running ? Try a yoga
or martial arts newsgroup instead.Cheers,

http://www.sportsmed.buffalo.edu/info.html
The site links to different injuries, their descriptions, treatments
and rehab exercises. OK you may not be injuries but that doesn't mean
you can't learn from the stretches they describe in the rehab
exercises. The reason I find this particularly useful is because it is
a sports medicine site. The exercises are for those of us who are
athletically inclined. And you'll also be able to educate yourself on
all aspects of keeping joints healthy. To use the site select one of the injury links. Then click the
Treatment link at the bottom and the Rehab link at the bottom of that
page. You'll come to a page that describes a host of useful stretches.Hope this helps,
Andy -

You mean your arms, chest, back, shoulders, abdomin, neck, etc, play no
part in running? And it isn't necessary to keep these other parts of
your body in shape to run better? Remember people have all sorts of
reasons to run. Many of those reasons are to live a healthier life and
have a healthier body.Andy

And it isn't necessary to keep these other parts of your body in shape to run
better?Depends on what you mean by "in shape". 19 inch arms will not help you run a
faster 5k time (or help you run effectively by any sensible tangible measure).
In fact I'd go out on a limb and say that being able to sit in full lotus
position, bench press double your body weight, or do 20 pullups will not do
much for your distance times either (or, if you like, replace improving
distance times with any other tangible measure of running effectively).Quoted message said:
Remember people have all sorts of
reasons to run. Many of those reasons are to live a healthier life and
have a healthier body.Sure, but my point is that stretching isn't going to help you very much with
running. It might serve some other (and perhaps more important) goal, but ...
allow me to illustrate with an example:I might run to calm my nerves, but that doesn't mean that I'm going
to post questions about meditation techniques used by Buddhist monks on a
running news group, even though I might also use those for the same purpose.Cheers,
