  1. Buddy had been asking me to make these, so I whipped
up a batch on Monday. They are soooo good!

    No Bake Cookies

    1/2 C. butter, melted
    2 C. sugar
    4 T. cocoa
    1/2 C. milk
    Dash salt
    1/2 C. creamy peanut butter
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    3 C. quick cook oatmeal

In large saucepan, melt butter, then add next 5 ingredients. Mix
thoroughly, and stir over med-high until boiling point is reached.
Boil one minute, stirring (do not overcook!); remove from heat, and
let cool for 8-10 minutes. Mix in peanut butter and vanilla, stirring
until melted. Add oatmeal, mix until well coated. Quickly drop by
teaspoonful onto wax paper or foul and chill.

I'm going to assume you're talking to me -- I live in Western WA,
near Puget Sound. Here's a great way to find out where RFC posters
    live:

Thanks for the recipe! My school cafeteria used to make these when I was
in grade school. Haven't thought of 'em in decades! Think I need to whip
    up a batch soon...

My recipe calls for 1/2 cup of cocoa. When I see a version using only 4
    T. they seem "anemic" to me, lol.

Sorry, I thought by replying directly to you, and since you state that
you live in WA in your sig that it would be obvious that I was talking
    to you.

I am in Yakima, I do frequent Seattle and Lynwood quite often though.
Seattle to take my son to Children's Hospital on a regular basis, and
Lynwood becuase that is where my sister and brother in law live. I also
come over a few times a year and go diving off the Salty's pier in
Burien or Edmonds Water park or Three Trees.

We have friends of the family who live in Port Townsend , but keep a
condo a couple of blocks south of the MarQueen hotel on Mercer. That is
where we usually stay if Robbie's hospital visit requires staying a
    couple nights.

I lived in the Tacoma area for a few years while going to school and
worked in Federal Way for a little while.

We will actually be over there next Thursday to see the zoo and go to
    dinner with friends from Puyallup.

I think you're right -- I'm thinking of moving from 1/4 cup (dunno
why the original says 4 T. instead of 1/4 cup) to 1/3 cup and see
how that goes. The ones I just made didn't have the strong cocoa taste
I remember, but they were still very tasty. Thanks for the suggestion...

Try using water instead of milk. Boiling cocoa in water brings out the
flavor. Boiling in milk mutes the flavor. (you can add some powdered
    milk later if you want)
