  1. A co-worker brought these to the office today. Very tasty!

    Comfort Wings

    2-Dozen Chicken Wings or Drumettes

    BREADING
    2 cups all purpose flour
    2 tsp granulated garlic
    2 Tbsp lemon pepper
3 Tbsp rosemary and thyme, chopped fine
2 Tbsp salt and pepper, or seasoning salt (Tony Sachere's or Lawrys)
    blend well

    EGG WASH
    4 each eggs
    1 cup milk
    blend well

    SAUCE
    ½ Cup Southern Comfort
½ Cup Tabasco or other Louisiana Hot Sauce
    ½ stick melted butter
    Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

Putting it all together: In a bowl make the Egg Wash, toss in chicken,
coat well. Place coated chicken in breading toss, place in deep fryer, or
in pot that has enough hot 350º oil to cover chicken, cook until golden.
In large bowl, mix all ingredients for the sauce, toss in chicken, mix
    well.

The part of a chicken wing that, when separated, looks like a miniature

Oh! Thanks Wayne🙂 I don't know if our wings are smaller than yours
but I never find enough meat on them to bother with. I just put them
    with the bones for stock.

I have to say that this is without doubt my favourite (as far as
flavour and tenderness goes) part of a chicken. Well that and the
little scallop type pieces under the wings on the underside of the
    chicken.
    Breast? no thank you.

    Doc

    Lovely recipe by the way.

My daughter and I went to my brother's house for New Years many years
back. He was going to make some chicken wings. I don't like them, and
he doesn't either. He was making them for his wife, although my
daughter, who was pretty little at the time, said she liked them also.

He cut them as Wayne described. He put some kind of marinade/glaze on
them, and they were a very pretty shiny brown when ready. After they
cooled a bit, my daughter and SIL dug in. My brother had put out a bowl
for the leftover bones. I commented to my SIL on how different the
leftovers were. My daughter took a couple of well-defined bites out of
the meat and tossed the rest. My SIL cleaned off all the meat. She
just laughed, and said that I ought to see her brother in action. He
worked on them a long time, and got *everything* off but the bone.

He talked about chicken part prices in Taiwan, where his wife was from.
Their per pound prices are backwards from ours. The breast meat is
least prized, so is cheapest. The wings are the second most expensive
    part, behind the feet.

Well I am not keep on the breast either (luckily that is David's
favourite) I like the legs. Feet? no thanks🙂)

Yes, they may be smaller. It seems over the years that chickens have
gotten larger than I used to remember.

Think of the wing as having an elbow... cut it there. The meatier
part with only one bone is called the "drumette".

Did any see Philadelphia's "WingBowl yesterday morning??? I'll guess
    every major city hosts one.

It's held at the Wachovia Center indoor arena. Full of fans in the
    stadium seats!

In two rounds. The winner ate 173 wings to win an SUV. Don't know if they
were hot (spicy) or just bbq sauced. The eaters had their own
cheerleading squads basically yelling at them "faster... faster...
    more... more...." Almost orgasmic. 😄

Either way, about as gross as it gets, excepting the I.F.O.C.E. events.

Had 3 hot three hotdogs for breakfast and I feel like a champ!

Thanks Michael. The ones on the site that sf pointed me to looked big.
    I usually buy
small organic chickens and the wings are very small.

It doesn't matter what size they are Ophelia, they are still called
drumettes. With the small ones, you can release the meat from the
bone and push/pull it toward the "body" end of the wing (whatever
works for you). I call them chicken pops. They make a good, not
messy, appetiser because the bone is fairly clean to pick up with your
fingers. If you have someting to serve with them, like buffalo wing
sauce... your guests can dip their wings into it and it's a single
    dunk.
