Yep,,,probably one of the first true attempts at a comfortable bike for the masses. Sears was even
selling them for awhile. It's a heavy beast but a lot of people liked 'em--but not enough people to
keep them going. But for $25.00, what the heck!!

no way ReBike was very popular and it was not a lack of sales that killed them. The [woman] who
owned ReBike was offered a good buyout deal by Huffy and she and everyone figured (finally a bent
goes commercial to the masses, big buck-big name Huffy would promote ReBike) and then Huffy went on
a spending spree and damn near collapsed the company. Huffy decided to get their wagons in a circle
and put ReBike production "On Hold" and then they just gave up on ReBike.

The success of ReBike put BikeE on the map, when ReBike went out of production there was no shortage
of bents to fill the void. I suspect it was ReBike that motivated many to look at riding their 1st
bent prior to 2000 when ReBike was snuffed out.

Quetzal Recumbents (the people doing the EVOX/Azetca Semi-Bent currently sells the ReTrike (same
company who made the ReBike in Taiwan). So getting replacement parts is not an issue. So hell
yes...$25.00 for a used ReBike is a damn good price. I have owned 3 of them and IF I win another
Lottery I will buy a truck load, when converted they make an excellent Low Cof G E-Bent.

The woman in question was Kathy Skewis I believe. According to the owner of my favorite bike shop,
she was a beautiful blonde who looked like a model. Hardly the stereotype of a bicycle designer. She
was also sharp and a good salesperson. I believe it was [censored] Ryan who stated that Huffy paid her
about three million dollars for ReBike plus she was retained by them as the top ranked executive in
that new division(ReBike) for the duration of their involvement with the bike. If this is true, then
she may be the only person to have become a (cash) millionaire in the recumbent business.

She was all of the above except she was a brunette (if I remember correctly), but she always had a
few beautiful blonde sales women at the trade shows. Don't know what happened to her after the
demise of the company, no one seems to have heard anything about her since. [censored] Ryan

Well she could have been either a "drug store" blonde or a brunette;-)
Often times I've wondered too what ever became of her. Maybe the
demise of ReBike caused her to be disgusted with the bike business and
is involved in another industry. I wish her well where ever she is.
