messenger bag.
shove it down the back right part of your pants (well,
unless you're wearing bike shorts that is) .. it works a
little better if you wear a belt but it's not necessary. i
forget it's there sometimes, it never rattles and the lock
couldn't be more accessible.
When I'm riding a bike with any rear rack, my lock lays flat
on the top of the rack, bungeed with the cylinder towards
the saddle.
Without a rack, I open the lock, feed the U part through my
right hip belt loop and relock with the keyhole forward.
Then when I want to take it off, just swing it forward and
I'm looking down at the keyhole.
Downside of this is that it is a bit rough on your belt
loops. Re-stitching is easy, as long as you aren't too
worried about neatness.
