Gerolsteiner has a bunch of young German riders - but as someone once
said, no one wins the Tour on mineral water.

Yeah, Gerolsteiner has actually been doing better in German races too.
The fact that T-Mobile had the established riders locked up and held
onto them without bringing up young ones really made it a good
situation for Gerolsteiner as it's working out. There are a couple of
solid U-23 types in the pipeline, but it doesn't look like any real
superstars right now.
I hope that T-Mobile stays in the sport, but I'm not betting on it
after this year.

Rogers is betting on it. He'll be riding for them next year.

Got to wish him luck, but I'm not sure that it's a smart move.
Unfortunately other than Jan, Erik, Vino, and some flashes by Wesseman
everybody else seems to have real trouble there for some reason. They
seem to be at least planning the staff in the long term, and I hope it
works out that they get some new riders and keep their budget and
sponsors.

Rogers is 26, IIRC. He could be hoping that he can be "the guy" after
Ullrich leaves. With T-Mobile's resources and GC focus (as opposed to
Quick-Step) it's a good spot to be in. Not being German, he's gonna have to
deliver big-time and probably get annointed by Jan to get accepted by the
sponsor and public (and thus the team). He's gonna have to outshine Kloden
first. I wonder how Vino's viewing Rogers' arrival...

At any rate, once Jan is no longer in the picture, sorting out the DS
orgchart has got to help things all on it's own.

I think Vino thinks he is going to be faster than Kloden, Jan, and
whoever else they put on the team. I also think he gone in 2006.
