I am driving my junk car today without air conditioning, and that's
about as tough as I get. I heard there is no end in sight for our
    Spring Heat Wave.

    Oh goodie! Lucky you.

I don't make excuses darling. I don't wanna ride in this heat and I'm
not....and if I don't want to do something, I damn well don't do it.

When I really want to do something, get something, have something, I
    don't make excuses....I find a way.

Riding a bike in the heat, humidty, and pollution is not my idea of a
happy time. Lounging in the pool with a cool drink sounds much more
desirable. And that is what I did after work. ;-)

Shoot me, I am not a hard core cyclist.

So what was that nonsense again about wearing the old jeans?

Just restrict your intake of the ground level ozone, otherwise
sweating is good for you. It's what you pay for at the spa.

Find greener spaces away from smog generators where it's pleasant to
ride. It's cooler there too. You can make your own breeze and become
    a smiling insectivorous cyclist.

What happened to the trip to the gym?

Hey I went to the Doctor yesterday and I lost 16 lbs. I am going to
keep exercising, but I am not going to get on the bike and ride in this
heat and humidity in pollution central. I do not see anything wrong
with that decision, and neither did my doctor. He said to exercise at
the gym during this weather. This area does not have quality air, and
with this heat and humidity, it just does not make sense to push myself
to ride. Maybe some people can't understand that because riding is
their life. But riding is not my life. I do it because I enjoy it. I
don't enjoy it in this heat. It is a personal decision. There are
other ways to exercise and get back in my "skinny jeans" ;-)

    Maggie....

As far as the heat goes, you can get acclimated to anything if you do it
    gradually and use common sense.
