Doesn't anybody think that the age of the bike concerned is relevant?
My Holdsworth, whose frame has just bust, would definitely have been
old enough to consent (actually the chap would probably have rejected
it as a bit long in the tooth). A lot of these bikes of today, well,
they just have no staying power ... all chubby brushed aluminium and
no mudguards.

How often are you working on your bike, and you need another hand to
hold something in place. Perhaps he was just improvising.
