    Excellent Idea.
Please let all groups know when it has been set up, as I would not
    normally read uk.rec.walking.

Presumably you do not read u.r.walking as you are not interested in
walking. This probably means that you are not interested in the use
of gps by walkers. Well I am! So keep the walking related gps posts
    within a walking-related group.

The number of GPS threads on uk.rec.walking has increased to the point
    where some have complained.

How about a new newsgroup uk.rec.gps? To cover all recreational uses of
GPS, walking, sailing, car navigation, geocaching.
    <follow up set to uk.rec.walking>
which has the greatest number of GPS posts

    Excellent Idea.

I agree with this entirely, keep the discussions going on gear, maps,
routes and on the sort of things we do when out walking, like taking
    pictures.

It would be a sad and limited old place if all we could discuss here was
'walking'. There isn't that much to be said about the simple mechanical
activity of putting one foot in front of the other <g>.

    Regards,
    Nick.

Warning. Don't mess with this lady. I can read the signs. Don't go
    there.

Agreed. URW is deathly dull and most of its contributors are boring.
All they seem to do is discuss Argos tents. *Mega yawn*.

Please let me know when a group dedicated to the fascinating subject of
GPS's has been set up. I can barely wait!!

    Excited regards,

    Ian.

Lol! But don't worry. I have vented my spleen at someone who has
already said that he doesn't read this newsgroup ....... so he'll
never know what I said. Doh!

(I meant it though. Keep walking-related posts here. Otherwise we'll
    need uk.rec.tentpegs and uk.rec.dodgyknees etc)
