Well one can kick it faster on lip "physics"ly speaking yes. Not really
easier though since the landing can be weird. but yeah. lol

p.s. Go for trips by all means, it's kinda tricky, what you ahve to
learn is riding really slowly jump kick dubs and land solid, without
riding anywhere. Just like to stall. That will help triples.
