    Grizedale which is shut. Well it is from the visitors centre side
    but not from the Coniston side so I could get in and see some of the
    devastation first hand. There were plenty of trees down, both in the
    old woods and in the forest itself. I think I got the best of the
    weather as it is teeming down with rain now with high winds forecast

    LOL - I see what you mean. A strange place that, almost a Marie-Celeste
    type farm although it must have been empty for a good few years.

    No. What I did think when I too did Carron Crag from that side last year
    (so I could do the real summit of Top O' Selside) was what a waste of a
    wonderful place to live.

    Is that Parkamoor?

    If so that was the home of a shotgun weilding goml that objected to
    the British Orienteering championships taking place on someone elses
    land near by in the 1970s...

    It looks as though it hasn't been lived in recently which is a shame. A
    decade of neglect and it will just be another ruin. I wonder who owns it
    (not that I would take on such a labour intensive project at my age
    unless the property came free).

    Shame its empty.. I sneaked past gingerly on a walk up Top Of Selside
    until realising to releif and sadness that it was empty.. Needs an
    inhabitant....
