Anyone want to own up to being the time trialing Brommie rider ???
Whilst driving home from a week in Cumbria today, I passed the time trial on the A14 just west of Bury St Edmunds.
There appeared to be a Brompton taking part, complete with front bag and possibly rear luggage. Unfortunately about to be overtaken by someone with an aerodynamic helmet and a more conventional 700c wheeled machine.
So who was it ?
It was Fergus Muir, the local newsppaer reporter for cycling events in Suffolk and Norfolk (EDP & EADT). I think he probably travelled to a nearby railway station, then cycled out to the HQ. [it was a mighty cold and windy day, as I was standing at the finish, relaying times back tot he HQ]. It wasn't fast out there either, won with a 22m 20s, by someone who would normally do it in 19m or 20m.

Which event was it, Pete? Was it the VTTA one?

VTTA and also open to anyone else to get a 'fast time' ... but not yesterday. How did Nathan do?

Nathan did a 25.38 (pb) which was good considering it was a cold, windy, damp & drizzly evening and many a rider was moaning about the weather slowing them down. There was one other junior, the Welsh junior 10 champion, who did a 25.14, so I'm well pleased with Nathan's performance in getting close to someone who is normally *much faster* than he is; nice lad too, I was chatting with him at the end.
The winner was Richard Bradley of Leo RC who did a 21.05 (The previous week Hutch did a 19 something or other on the course). Richard Bradley (Anglia Velo) did a 23.04 & Martin Pyne did a 22.40, Paul Ashby (API) did a 21.49, and that's all the times I managed to scribble down.

Just to be clear, as my grammar were good not. I know Nathan's a nice lad (not that I'm biased), but I was referring above to the other junior, Daniel, the Welsh junior champion.
