Re-taping Gore-tex seams

You might try iron-on hemming tape. I made quite a nice (almost)
invisible repair of a spark hole in a windtop by sticking a bit of patch
material on the inside of the hole with some, so far so good.

Another thing I'd be inclined to try is calling up Berghaus and see what
they have to say. If they say you need a new jacket you can always
ignore them...

Lancashire Sports Repairs (www.lsr.gb.com) have been recommended to me a
couple of times, though I've not used them myself yet (will need to soon
tho' as my jacket needs doing too). £40 to retape a whole jacket
according to their website.

I have an ancient Sprayway goretex jacket which had the same problem. I had
heard that Bostik was the glue to use but thought that could get messy so I
used wunda-web, the stuff you use for hemming trousers. I just placed a
piece under the tape and ironed it through a piece of brown paper. It
worked quite well although I have not used the jacket much since.

I used Bostik on an old Berghaus Goretex jacket's taped seams and it
worked great.

Cant't tell you I'm afraid; I haven't washed it since. If I hadn't done
three washing machine loads already today I might have tried an
experiment for you -- but there is a limit to my domesticity.... :-)
