Whatever this band is..I really like it...I know they have been around for
awhile but I just like them now...probably a flash in the pan...the whole
vocal thing is cool but not very diverse.

I disagree - I think that they are failry diverse, esp. in todays music. I
    just picked
up the new one, "Mesmerize". Great music on there. Check out the website
    too.
They are fairly vocal about the world political climate. Kinda reminds me of
    Jello
Biafra ideology and writing styles. Dead Kennedys just didn't have the
    production
$$ to sink into the recording.

SOAD is also a great live act. I saw them open for Slayer before they were
    known.
Made a definite impression where so many other opening acts are just
    forgotten.

If you don't have any of the older SOAD stuff (SOAD, Toxicity, Steal This
    Album),
check them out. Some of the middle eastern influence on their music blends
    really well.

    My $0.02.

How would you rate Mesmerize compaired to Toxicity?

How would you rate Mesmerize compaired to Toxicity?

I would put it on a par with Toxicity, if not above. The music is somewhat
    more
complex. Daron (guitar) sings a lot more on this disk than Toxicity, making
    for
    more harmonies with Serj.

They are doing much the same thng that they did with Toxicity/Stealt This
    Album.
Hypnotize is the second disk to Mesmerize. The band wrote and recorded 30
    songs
for the disk and will split it between the two releases. Hypnotize is set to
    release in
    the fall.

Pick it up. If you like Toxicity, you'll dig Mesmerize.

  4. Have to concur. Been there all the way with SOAD. This one has
knocked me out though. Can't stop playing it. Singing really stands
out on this one. Those two really sound good together.

Thanks. Are the songs as catchy as Toxicity? Hows the production
    quality?

Don't be dopey. You've gotten (at least) two favorable reviews. Find a
    music store
with a listening station and check it out for yourself if you are going to
    dismiss
our opinion. Music is VERY subjective and your opinion may be quite
    different
    than ours.

Got get it if you liked Tox. You likely will not be disappointed.

Your right. Got it, Love it. I little different with Daron singing
more, but still great. Radio/Video being my favorite so far. SOAD have
mastered the tempo changes. Only wish it was a tad longer.

Cool. I am glad that you like it. . .

If you want more, wait 6 months. SOAD wrote and recorded 30+ songs for this
release. Instead of a double disk, they are gonna release the companion disk
    in
    the fall, titled Hypnotize.

Go when the muse strikes . . .
