UFO means "Unidentified Flying Object", nothing more, nothing less. If
you see something flying that you can't identify it's a UFO. This does
not require it to be an alien spacecraft, just something you're not sure
what it is.

So no cynicism required here, and if you can't believe that anybody has
ever seen anything flying they can't identify then you're not so much a
cynic as terminally lacking in imagination!

You're not trying hard enough. Believing incredible things takes
practice. Like a foreign language, it's easiest if you start young,
and have a natural talent, but grown-ups too can learn if they
persevere.

I've seen UFOs myself. I'm pretty sure they were weather balloons, loose
bits of US booster rocket re-entering, or lesser-spotted-whatzits
catching the evening sun, but since I couldn't identify them, and they
were flying (or maybe 'falling' .. up in the air anyway) they get a
'UFO' tag.

The LGM putting probes in your ears is not a requirement for something
to be a UFO. 8>.

I've seen loads of UFOs, and so have many other people. Never seen any
alien spacecraft though.

I've seen some IFOs too, like the Mir Space Station and the ISS.

Along with a friend I watched a mystery object high in the air as we lay
on a couple of sun loungers in the garden. It was a blue sky, but with
some badly positioned clouds which obscured the thing almost as soon as
I could get binoculars properly aligned. It looked like a silver
weather balloon, assuming that they are shiny.

It was drifting at a rate which was probably the wind speed aloft.
