There's a caff in South Cave? Blimmin' 'eck, they kept that quiet!

Following this minor drama, I then had to get the tyre off. Note to
self: buy more metal tyre levers the next time you are in Halfrauds.

I think we may have some spare ones squibbling about in one of our bits
boxen. If i remember (ha!) I'll bring them to Darley Moor for you, if
    you're planning to attend.

The interior of the tyre was awash with Slime, which had failed to
prevent a particularly large and determined flint from letting both the
    air and the Slime out.

Precisely our experience with Slime - it's V. Good with thorns but can't
cope with flints - the holes are just too big

Overall an enjoyable ride, spoiled a tad by the bloody awful weather.

Terrible, this drought we're having, isn't it? :-)

A splendid and most amusing account - ta muchly!

That sounds possible - I lived in the area until last autumn and visited
South Cave on numerous occasions to use their Post Office (which is
staffed by nice cheerful ladies who don't mind a recumbent trike parked
outside) and had never spotted anything resembling a caff, although IIRC
there was a chippy and a couple of pubs.

North Cave, on the other hand, I knew much less well, so the possibility
of a caff lurking there somewhere seems more likely somehow.

Courtesy of our local club. List of Cafes:

N+S Cave listings are pubs and a mysterious "textile gallery".

I did. And - curiously enough - saw it mentioned in one of Peter
Robinson's Inspector Banks novels, what I was reading yesterday while
recovering from being Pizened by - I suspect - the cheeseburger scoffed
at Spurn Head. Which was itself visited by a character in ANOTHER one
of Peter Robinson's Inspector Banks novels, what I was reading yesterday
while recovering from being Pizened etc. etc.

Robinson's opinion of Withernsea, moreover, tallies fairly closely with
    mine. NOT complimentary...

How odd. You'd think I'd've noticed it really. I remember a flower shop
and a bathroom shop on the corner, but not the tea shop. Senility draws
    on apace....

Another small world crashes - I quite liked the sound of a hullabaloos'

I must re-read that book: I remember when I first read it feeling angry
at the sheer injustice of the hero being disbelieved, even by friends
who approved of what they thought he'd done.

Don't stop at that one - read them all, in order if you want to be nerdy

Oh, I prolly will some time soon, it's been far too long. I re-read the
Narnia books recently - in order of publication, natch. ;-)
