Well, that's not always the case. Once when I was working in the same 7-11
two girls came in, (teens-cute) and when they came to the register they were
talking among themselves and after eyeballing me, one said to the other,
I'll [censored] him. Pretty brazen, right in public like that with others
listening in line. I heard it and I think they knew I did and wanted me to.
Now that's not to mention all the prostitutes that hit up on you while they
are buying groceries, and even when you are shopping on Blackstone as that
is their stomping ground. Perhaps the answer to Toms question is more like
this. It's easier for guys to accept Lesbians because it doesn't seem as
repulsive as guys, but it's still wrong in my mind. To me the guy thing is
off the scale and makes me shutter when CNN shows guys kissing on their gay
marriage spots they do on the news, I just turn my head. As for being
outsiders as you mentioned in a previous response, that's not a problem
because for the most part you never know who is gay when frequenting stores
and such, but when you get an eyeful in public, that's a scene that I would
rather sidestep.

And I think that answers my question rather succinctly. And it also shows a
sort of troublesome sexism that is pretty unique to American women.

someone sent me this reply via email. i thought it was a nice way to
tell me that i'd over generalized and it made me smile, so i asked if i
could post it here-

my boyfriend discovered this recently and came home depressed. some high

I'm pretty sure they were kidding, because working at 7-11 won't get anyone
laid.
