Has to be. I've been a fan of Kerr's since the Galloping Gourmet show

and sauté it with a sprinkling of spices. I serve it as a side with
meat. Otherwise, I can sauté it and add it to pilafs or couscous.

Yup, it's a veggie. Nope, I don't scramble it like eggs. I took to
calling it that after an article in Saveur magazine used the term.
Before that I just cooked it. I use an iron skillet and gently sizle
it over medium heat (with olive oil) till the slime is reduced and the
okra caramelizes. It takes about an hour or maybe less.

difference between the names Graham Kerr and Jeff Smith and between The

much in the way of informed opinion.

There was nothing scandalous that I ever heard of. It is just that he was
either half cut during his shows or else he was acting drunk and silly. I
learned a lot from his shows as he suggested the importance of cooking with
various styles, which made things easier than trying to cope with specific
recipes. He was entertaining and informative. Somewhere along the way he
found religion and lost his charm, IMO.

I can appreciate that. I saw the listing for his new show and checked it out
because I used to enjoy the Galloping Gourmet shows. It was entertaining and
very informative, and that was back in the days when there were very few cooking
