Read up on the glycogen window! After exercise, eat sugar, fast ๐Ÿ™‚

You mean it's compulsory to eat choc and squirms (much better than
snakes, salivating just at the thought) after the ride. Now that's some
coaching I like (my wife will never believe it).

Here is a great rule for cycling: go to the cafe afterwards. If you
crave bacon, you had too little electrolyte. If you crave pancakes, you
need sugar. Mmmmm pancakes and bacon and maple syrup and coffee... Hey
Absent Husband, let's finish at Stones Corner next time...

On a long ride, you will always, providing you sweat a bit of course, be electrolyte deficient. You can not dring fluids with enough electrolytes to compensate for the loss, you would puke unfortunately. They are even recommeding distance athletes, and you are one of them ๐Ÿ™‚, to drink less, since it can be fatal if you drink too much and your conecentration of electrolytes becomes to low you die. It has happened too.

That was what my wife cooked me for my birthday breakfast - pancakes,
bacon & maple syrup, with coffee on the side.... Heaven on a plate!!

Yeah, I read that, on your blog <shameless plug>
    http://absenthusband.blogspot.com/ </shameless plug> ๐Ÿ˜„

So, are you telling me it's breakfast at your place then? Woohoo, thanks
    Absent Wife!

I am confused, where does Absent Hippy fit in here??

    jh

Well I didn't intend for Absent Husband's kids to be serving me in bed!

    Tam

Now I read over that, it looks worse than I intended. Oh well.

Hehe unless you upgraded your wheelset, you only need to carry a spare
tube, Absent Husband, not a spare tyre :P (couldn't help it!)

  6. The girls seem to getting into the whole 'service industry' idea (even
though they are only 4 & 7...) - they want to be waitresses or
hairdressers... I've obviously raised them in a gender-neutral
environment, haven't I *watches Father of the Year award fly away*

I'd love them to be dish-washer-uppers, or business-shirt-ironers, but
even at their age they can see through that scam!!

One of my best-ever breakfasts was like that. Stack of pancakes with
butter, maple syrup and bacon, ringed by sausages and with a fried egg
    on the top. Burp.
