I can just see a small tube amp for an ipod. That would be funny. You would need a car battery to power it. Not very portable.
I saw a small tube amp for car stereos. It used tiny little tubes and produced lots of heat. Not very practical and expensive as well.

I've been intrigued by the discussions on single end triode amps coupled with high efficiency full range drivers in horn enclosures. Pretty pricey stuff, but the latent Heathkit geek in me might try to put something together sometime.
