With one click you can make entire threads such as

It's a simple two-step process:
1. First you have to set up a view definition to hide ignored messages,

Once this is activated, when you first click on
"Ignore Conversation" on the Message Toolbar the thread just turns light
grey (ignored). But once you exit the newsgroup and return, the entire
thread is completely gone from view unless and until you decide to change
the view back to include ignored conversations.

MAKE OFFENSIVE AUTHORS DISAPPEAR using CONTROL-K, which pops up the
Kill File control.

- Eliminate an AUTHOR or SUBJECT for as long as you like.

MAKE OFFENSIVE THREADS VANISH with *I* the IGNORE key, which works
like CTRL-K to remove whole threads from view.

Judicious use of *I* and CTRL-K can reduce the number of corrosive
exchanges in all of our groups.

While some comments deserve no response, it may be difficult to resist
the urge. These two tools can bolster one's resolve or make it easier
to turn a blind eye to comments that should slip beneath one's notice.

That's not entirely true. Heredity plays a HUGE part in one's cholesterol
problems. Some of the newer cholesterol tests break down the LDL into 2
parts--fluffy puffy LDL--which DOES NOT adhere to arterial walls, and small
dense LDL, which DO. There is actually a breakdown of 5 different LDL
components, but these 2 are the most significant. Getting your insurance to
cover this test is another matter!

to help. I didn't prescribe anything nor get on a soapbox. I own a retail
low carb store and this group helps my business with their discussions. I
rarely respond, mostly observe and learn. I sell NOTHING at this forum. So
stop with your nonsense and get a book on how to be a humble human being.

problem is due to the sin of the person who got it, or the sin of his

This healing of diseases things cuts either way. If wounds are good
for people, why heal them? If they aren't, why didn't a loving and

I have also been told that HDL consists of various types.

Also, an important purpose of the lipids is to carry
cholesterol to the cells; the free cholesterol molecule
itself is not soluble, and so it is carried by various
lipids, which also have other purposes. I find the
current studies to be sadly lacking; while physicians
lack the knowledge of statistics to handle the realistic
multivariate situations, and with limited data they are
not that easy by any means, at least they should test
everything in sight in their studies, including what
they do not consider important. Statistics has been
called the religion of medicine, and VERY few of those
using it have any understanding of it other than a
collection of magic recipes.

interpretation of your bible, then it doesn't matter. Because it might
not literally mean "death" where it says death.

If believe in the literal interpretation of Psalms 36, 61, and
especially 91: "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his
wings you will find refuge," then god is a giant bird. But if you give
the bible license to be metaphorical, then you can't trust anything it
says. Because a metaphor, taken literally, is simply a lie.

One has to wonder how much the mental aberrations had to do with his
being fired from the Ocala facility. That "I know, absolutely, better
than you" attitude coupled with the need to "win" every discourse he
enters would certainly not endear him to his employers and co-workers,
much less patients. But he was dismissed "for cause" in giving
substandard treatment, which evaluation an arbitrator upheld, so it
couldn't merely be attitude.

I used to admire both of them.

She was a university provost who wrote an especially good paper about
"fair use" of copyright materials. Very bright, extraordinarily
well-educated. I've watched her on some of the news interview programs
saying things that embarrassed me for her. She used to be acute and
discriminatory in her subjects.

Powell managed to make his way through the social and actual
minefields of our culture to become the highest military man in the
nation. Brilliant strategist, if only for that. Since his appointment
to executive office, he hasn't performed anywhere near that previous
level. His misguided WMD show at the UN made me sad for him.
