I've never felt that any pop song with the word "mountain" in the name
does justice to reality.

What does do justice is Richard Strauss' Alpine Symphony. Richard was a
keen walker apparently, whether he climbed any mountains or not I don't
know, but I know that he went walking in the Alps, perhaps spent a lot
of time there. His Alpine Symphony truly captures the grandeur of the
mountains and the emotions of a mountain climb.

Highly recommended, but it takes a few listens to get into it. Starts
with sunrise and ends with sunset, an entire day in the hills. Most
believable and evocative musical representation of sunrise and sunset
that I've ever heard, and I've seen a few of them...

I was once hit in the head by a flying drumstick at a concert, I believe
it belonged to Pierre Van Der Linden of Trace, a superbly talented
drummer in an excellent Dutch band. Unfortunately someone else grabbed
it as a souvenir.

No matter, I have plenty of drumsticks of my own, mostly broken... :-)

Yes did leap to mind actually, but I couldn't think of any specific
track. Even without listening to the lyrics you know that there'd have
to be mountains in there somewhere (even just judging by the album
covers and not the music!).
