    front opening Lowe Alpine gaiter?

There are at least two models of front opening gaitors from LA. There
is a lighter weight model selling around £20 and the LA Mountain
Gaitor at £30. I have also just bought a pair of the more expensive

Indeed something that wasn't apparent in the shop as I have the lighter
weight version though even with the choice as most of my walking is in
Wales I would still have made the same purchase.

chewed ) by mice in my garage where they were drying from a previous
    trip.

I have worn them also 3 times ith absolutely no sign of wear at all.
However I have today lost the plastic buckle that secures the loose
end of the underfoot strap so will also be writing to La to try to get
a replacement buckle. Perhaps we can share noptes on customer service
    later

More than happy to do so. My email went in this evening so I will be
interesting to see how long it takes to receive an initial response

If these were new, your first port of call should be the shop where
you bought them: chance of a quicker resolution to your problem,
especially if they say "yeah, you're right, here we'll replace them
for you"... jobbsa goodun. Why the rush to go bleating to the
    manufacturer?

I've taken back a waterproof jacket (which leaked) and a pair of
walking shoes (on which the fabric was ripping after a fortnight of
gentle walking on holiday, no mud, hills or vegetation). Tisos policy
is to return item to Glasgow, where it then gets sent to manufacturer
for investigation. On both occasions for some reason I've gone along
with this, waited 3 weeks and got the item replaced. If it happens again
I am within my rights to ask, then demand, a refund. If the product
does not do what it is sold as, surely Tisos are in the wrong here?

Correct. You're entitled to an immediate refund for goods that are
faulty. In any case, if you complained loudly enough you'd probably get
a refund whether you were legally entitled or not...

    No, they're in the right.

The reason is that about 15 years ago, at the other end of the
country, someone mistreated their waterproof jacket and boots and
damaged them, but then tried to pretend they were faulty at the time
of purchase. Tisos learned a lesson from that, and now they treat
everyone with a broken jacket and boots exactly the same, regardless
of the merits. They're proud of their policy, and if the truth is told
they actually quite enjoy rubbing customers' noses in it.

Um..... to be honest, it sounds a pretty stupid policy to me, but I
know you take a different view. Right?

    :-)

    Best wishes,

p.s. (for the humour impaired) - the story about Tisos is allegorical.

As I understand it they are wrong.
